Brody Hartman is a documentary photographer and strategist whose civic arts practice brings together long-form photography, personal story, narrative strategy, public exhibition, and community engagement.
He partners with mission-driven organizations to help people see more clearly and care more deeply about the people, places, and possibilities at the heart of their work. Developed through sustained attention and collaboration, his projects deepen understanding, strengthen connection, and create momentum for support and meaningful change.
Before developing his photography practice, Brody spent three decades as a creative agency leader and strategist, working with organizations including Whole Foods Market, Ben & Jerry’s, Traditional Medicinals, and the International Museum of Women. That experience continues to inform how he approaches each project—from the first human question through strategy, story, and public presentation.
Based on a blueberry farm in Downeast Maine, Brody’s photography has appeared in The Sun Magazine, Downeast Magazine and was recognized in Dodho Magazine’s Monochromatic Awards 2025.
