A commissioned installation for Presidio Habitats — the first site-based art exhibition in a U.S. National Park, organized by the FOR-SITE Foundation in partnership with the Presidio Trust. The exhibition brought together an international group of artists, architects, and designers to create habitat installations for the park's animal residents, including a set of blue-and-white glazed porcelain sculptures by Ai Weiwei, designed as habitats for the western screech owl. Brody's sculpture, Winged Wisdom — created in collaboration with the graphic designer, Philippe Becker — wound through a eucalyptus and cypress grove as a collection of letters built from mesh and straw, offering nesting material for the American robin while spelling out aphorisms inspired by the bird: "resolve conflict with song" , “nest from the inside out” and "nest from the inside out." Each work in the exhibition served both as art and as functional habitat, inviting visitors to reflect on their surroundings and consider the wildlife that inspired the works. The exhibition was experienced by more than 100,000 visitors through free, self-guided access in the landscape.
